Nike, Lacoste, La Senza, Body Shop... Branded for Life!

Pakistan has infact emerged as an important source hub for international top brands. People are undoubtedly consious as they prefer to be labelled trendy and fasionable & the trend has increased even more. Good quality these brands have to offer to their target audience is one of the reasons. The best part is most of the clothes are manufactured in our local textile factories and hence, they're available at throw-away prices in Karachi's favourite Zainab Market. Most of the people cannot afford buying branded things but they still look for brands at cheaper costs. Lets hope this is not just another fad or craze as people of Karachi can easily be distracted by anything new!

FTV, CNBC and now MTV ... Whats next?

With FTV, HBO and CNBC, already running on our local cable tv-sets, MTV is sure to hit with a bang. Rumoured to start running from the first day of EID, its definitely going to exceed the expectations of many though it will face stiff competition from Play, The Muzik and AAG. Gone are the days when Pakistan was not a competitive market and the first to enter the market would rake in all the profits. With 3 foreign channels running lucratively in Pakistan, this is yet another sign of economic and social development currently being experienced in Pakistan. So whats next? A 24hours Technology channel showcasing the latest mobile phones or intel processors??? Food for thought.

A must see for students and job-seekers
Executive Dialouge

REVERSING PAKISTANS BRAIN DRAIN - LOSING OUR TALENT

Career Pakistan - Reverse Brain Drain Program

Career Pakistan is doing a national and noble service for facilitating the return of qualified overseas nationals to Pakistan, which would certainly help Pakistan bring quality management and world standard skills in all fields.”

Minister for Investment, Abdul Hafeez Shaikh

Mission Career Pakistan assists individuals with foreign education or overseas work experience find jobs in Pakistan.

On the web Click here.

In the News Career Pakistan story in The News

Matchmaking For many jobs, Career Pakistan interacts directly with decision-makers of reputed private sector companies, multinational companies, international organizations, NGO's, and educational institutions. Decision-makers are first queried on their hiring needs. Once Career Pakistan determines a match between the organization's needs and the individual's qualifications, Career Pakistan arranges an interview.

Outreach Most CEO's and heads of organizations do not work with Career Pakistan just to fill up their job openings in an efficient and effective manner. Many of them have themselves worked or studied abroad. Thus they have an empathetic compassion for helping fellow Pakistanis reposition and reside in Pakistan. Alternatively, they derive fulfillment from their personal participation in the shared goal of helping reduce Pakistan's brain drain. Several have taken an additional role of supporting Career Pakistan in an advisory capacity.

WIRELESS PAKISTAN

WIFI - Next Generation Wireless Pakistan: In Pakistan, high-speed internet infrastructure has already been laid out with leading ISP’s providing Broadband and DSL services to our 1.5 million+ speed-hungry internet users. So far, only 6% of the market has been penetrated. Long way to go however, this figure has more than tripled in the last 4 years. We have already passed the initial stages of IT Development with bandwidth cost-cutting, state-of-the-art software houses making internet much more affordable than before. With the country accelerating towards the growth phase, it is safe to assume today’s young graduates are much more computer literate than before. With more and more people now connected to the internet jungle, universities, coffee shops and cafĂ©’s have no option but to provide internet hotspots around the city… and for FREE! Our leading cellphone providers now offer GPRS services at affordable rates thus saving time and money and making our work-force more efficient.

In the news: Pakistan, apparently is planning the largest mobile WiMax network rollout with Wateen Telecom providing the bucks & Motorola providing its expertise. With speeds of upto 75MB/Sec, Blackberrys and GPRS-enabled phones are sure to reach peak demands.

Result: Accessible, Affordable, Efficient … A by-product of competitive sustainable economic growth. Lets welcome Pakistan to the WIFI World. You can also convert your home into a wifi-spot. All you need is a wireless card (most laptops have built-in ones) + wireless router and a DSL/Broadband connection. Wireless routers are available for Rs5000 & up at any computer shop. It works best with DSL (available at Rs1250/- and up) and Broadband connections (packages starting from Rs 750/- & up).

GENESIS

Welcome Everyone.

New to the Blog-flu and excited about my late entry to our world of blogosphere. The purpose of this blog is simple. Live life the smart way ... And know what can be done!

"To sin by silence when men should protest makes coward of them" - Abraham Lincoln

That being said, there's so much to accomplish in such a short time. How can we achieve that? Let me give you a better insight into what exactly I will be posting. Inshallah, I aim to make every reader be aware of the elements I believe are missing... elements that are hindering development ... Unfortunately we are a cynical nation, highly judgmental ... not realizing it has left us far behind in ... well almost everything!

Productivity, leadership, management will be my favorite issues... And how can I not compare this nation to the magnificent India

As an amateur writer, I encourage all readers to drop in their comments so I may improve the quality of this blog with time. I will try my best to update this site as often as possible and engage the reader with useful articles. A big thank you ...

About me: A recent university graduate from Canada going through quarter-life crisis..who wants to make a difference in this world... This blog is definitely one of the best ways I could think of ... Now a corporate soldier who has plans to make million rupees by the age of 30 !!! Through Legal means ofcourse :) Greatly inspired by Leaders, Teachers and a Great Learner by nature... Plan to become one of the most inspirational young leaders of todays generation.
